Beautiful Bears from Mom’s Mink Fur Coat

I wanted to share with you my latest bear making project.  I was asked by a lovely lady to create some Memory Bears from her Mother’s treasured mink fur coat.

Mink Coat before turning into teddy bears

The first step was to remove the satin lining

This lovely coat was a little unusual and had a second cotton lining underneath the satin lining.  This needed to be removed as well and was quite labor intensive.

Finally I had the bare coat, ready to transform into sweet Memory Bears!

Here, the bears are starting to take shape….

and then finally – the 3 finished 12″ Mink Fur Teddy Bears.

these wonderful bears.  Now my sisters and I can each 
treasure a part of mom’s beloved mink coat, instead of it  
hanging neglected in a closet.
